▶ DATE: few days after the train wreck (day 9/10? hella backdated sorry!)
▶ WARNINGS: just your usual zombehs.
▶ SUMMARY: exploring, emotioning and slaying!
[ kate feels anxious; it's more than just the resulting cabin fever due to being stuck in this compound without much of a lead as to how they got there. it's obvious enough why it's better not to leave, especially why seth refused to let her go with the others to check out that crash, but they can't stay here forever. you don't escape hell to just settle for another.
she realizes she can't find answers alone. scott is someone she bumps into early on, who had apparently already been outside to see, and a natural fit to help her — ignoring the fact he shares a name with someone she already trusts. still, she sees something in him, and if seth happens to get mad that she left without him, well, scott went with her.
they head out early as they can, get a head start on their journey to the tower. kate seems to be carrying most of the supplies – her crowbar she's refused to abandon since her arrival, though she has acquired a bow and arrows since then. halfway there, as the wreckage gets closer and thoughts of what ... interference they might encounter there, she looks over at scott. ]

[ not that scott needs any weapons. he's got his own built in defense system that's come in handy more than once since he woke up in the compound. it isn't that he doubts kate, but weighing her down with weapons still makes scott itchy-anxious. ]

[ kate hitches the strap of her bag higher on her shoulder at the thought, eyes trained on the mountainside and tower not far off in the distance. ]
Anything else I should know before we check it out? Now might be a good time.
