▶ SUMMARY: A place to share your ic infos, if you please! Thomas is a freaking busy body, and he wants to get all the clues about this place gathered up, so he's going to start writing stuff he's found/woke up with onto a wall in one of the labs, and leave notes around the compound for others to do the same.



[ in one of the lab rooms, you'll find a message (possibly with more messages) scrawled on one of the walls (literally ON TO it, with either pen or a marker). it reads: ]



[ because thomas is super good about being specific. and communicative. but basically, that's what he's posting here - notes. clues, useful information, curious things - information. the advantage the gladers had in getting out of the maze was that they were united, and cooperating for the same goal. thomas doesn't know anyone here, and only has maybe two pieces of what's a much larger puzzle. he needs the rest.

so, around the compound, you'll find scraps of paper that have been taped or pinned to walls (or written directly onto them) that read in the same handwriting: ]

SEE LAB ROOM [[ ROOM NUMBER HERE ]] FOR INFO

IF YOU FOUND SOMETHING, WRITE IT DOWN

[ again, he is awesome at being verbose. if your character decides to investigate the room, they'll find thomas's notes already pinned or written onto the wall, plus whatever is left in the comments below. thomas himself will likely be around more often than not, reading things, scrawling stuff of paper, looking contemplative, or being passed the fuck out in a corner, if they want to bug him. ]


[[ ooc; okay so thomas is a nut, and also i thought we could use an icly set up means for characters to share the clues they woke up with/stuff they found/whatever other information about stuff going down. if you want, put up a top level for the actual note your dude/dudette is leaving, and idk people can tag into it if they want to seek your character out and bug them? or write notes under the note you left? idefk, let's do stuff, go wild???

[Okay, so she may have overreacted a little for a moment there. Not that she's gonna admit it. Not to Hook. She's seen those looks, mister.]

next time you'd like a word, do us both a favor and actually find me in person. these notes are tiring for conversation.

( which begs the question why he didn't just bother to find her, but hey, he's not the one that wanted to talk...

though... )

we ought to talk. and not over tiresome tiny notes.

( thankfully, he doesn't have to leave another, because the next time he goes to check to see her answer, the queen herself is waiting. )

[Regina is leaning against a wall as she waits, looking regal as usual. She regards him with a look that she manages to keep fairly neutral.]

I figured you'd come by to check the notes eventually, so I decided to skip any further scribbling.

[villainously]

Would hate to tire those royal fingers. Or royal feet, coming to find me instead of waiting.

( he's trying to be petty and succeeding. he'd probably have been annoyed if she did come to find him, because he more than likely would have been with Emma, and they're better off not broadcasting this conversation. )

I'm guessing you know what it's regarding.

Why waste my time looking for you who-knows-where when I know of a place you'll return to?

[Really, Hook. Use your brain.]

You want to talk about Emma.

[villainously]

Because it'd save time? What if I'd decided on a nap, darling?

( NO HE WON'T LET THIS GO OK HE REFUSES TO AGREE IT MAKES SENSE FOR REASONS )

Yes. ( at least the petulant act is dropped quickly. ) I didn't tell her much about it, but she doesn't remember a thing. She wouldn't just forget, would she?

[Regina doesn't even deign the first part with an answer at this point.]

Well, she isn't the Dark One, that's the thing. Do you know how far her memories go?

[villainously]

As far as I can tell, last she remembers is waking up from unwriting the Author's story.

( things he never thought he'd have to say, because that was crazy, even for Storybrooke. )

Was telling me off, of all things.

( there's some bittersweet irony in that. Emma had taken on the dark curse, and yet her first thought was to be angry at him for scaring her in a situation he'd honestly had very little control over his actions.

(and if he did, he'd have done it anyway.) )

[reginaprocacis]

[His tone of surprise is met with a look of actual incredulity from Regina.]

For dying for her? Yes, because that wouldn't make her upset at all.

[If there's one thing she knows about Emma, it's that Emma's hurt from the abandonment she's dealt with all her life is vast and still affects her way more than she lets on. Surely, Hook must understand that too.]

[villainously]

I didn't mean to die. And I'm not dead.

( you know, for starters. )

Bloody hell, Regina, are you going to help me find a way to save her or are you just going to argue with me?

( his patience is not good, ever, but it's especially not good now. he does understand, just as well as Regina does. how many people has he lost now? he doesn't want to add Emma to that list. )

[reginaprocacis]

[There's a long moment where she regards him with a steady, penetrating gaze.]

Of course I'm going to help.

[She pushes herself off the wall she's leaning against and takes a few casual steps toward him.]

However, I do think our priorities right now are different. First, I want to make absolutely sure Henry is nowhere around here. Second, we need to find a way back home.

In the meantime, I'll talk to some of the magic users here.

[villainously]

I've been all around this place, I've not seen him.

( Hook has kept an eye out for anyone from storybrooke, but especially Henry. he cares for the boy too. )

Getting out of here isn't going to help us much if it just brings her back to be cursed.

[reginaprocacis]

So, what? You want to stay here forever so you can keep this Emma from being cursed?

[Regina is pretty sure that isn't how it works. Not entirely, but pretty sure.]

We can't stop what we know already happened. Unless you want to try to change the timeline somehow.

[villainously]

If she hasn't gotten to that point, why are we going to send her back to that fate?

( it's dangerous, and risky, yes. but if they've been granted this favor, why not use it? )

[The longer he talks, the more tempting it gets. It does seem like a golden opportunity -- time away from home, with Emma not yet consumed by darkness.

And yet, she remembers quite clearly what disastrous results previous attempts at messing with the timeline had. Remembers Emma coming back from the past with Maid Marian in tow.

Remembers Zelena on the phone, telling her she'd gone back in time and killed Marian before Regina ever could. Before any of them ever had a chance to meet the true Marian. Wronged twice over by Mills women. And it galls her, that the woman she'd thought she had come to actually save this time, about whose life she had come to care, had been her scheming sister all along.

Sure, her initial plan had been to kill Marian all over again, but seeing her frozen body... well. It had been a wake up call.]

I'm... not sure that's such a good idea.

[Her eyes are earnest, understanding even. Regina doesn't like Hook and never will, but she can give him this much.]

I know how you feel, but messing with these things -- there's no telling what would happen. How that would shape the future. Who esle would be collateral damage.

[villainously]

That's different, Regina. That was changing the past, not the future.

( he won't agree that it's a bad idea. in fact, he seems a little annoyed she'd even suggest it. )

Emma is the collateral damage, and I suppose that matters little to you when it means you'll get everything you want, but what of your son? How is Emma taking on all that darkness the right answer?

( it isn't. it can't be. they did so much to protect her heart from the queens of darkness, only to kick their feet and throw up their hands now, presented an option to change it? no, he's not going to fall into that line of thinking, he refuses to. )

If you won't help me I'll find a way myself.

( he doesn't care how much searching or work it will require, if it saves Emma, he'd do anything. )

[reginaprocacis]

[Hot fury sweeps through her at his accusation. She takes a few steps forward, gets in his face, the loud clack of her heels echoing off the concrete walls and steel décor.]

I assure you it matters to me.

[How dare he? Oh, she'd been happy when Emma joined Operation Mongoose, felt vindicated when Emma committed to her happiness after having near damn destroyed her very last chance, but -- she never expected this. Never expected sacrifice. Never even thought that was on the table.

But in the end, she quickly falters, runs a hand through her hair while taking a few indecisive paces around. Then turns toward Hook again and raises her hands at him in a conceding gesture.]

Look, just let me find out a bit more about this world. I met some magic users, maybe they can help.

[She thinks of Ollie, the little witch whose trust she seems to already have. She can use that.]

[villainously]

( right, is it any shock he's doubtful? when this is the same woman that punished Emma for saving a life, or so she thought? the one that left the savior feeling so guilty she couldn't pursue happiness of her own? Regina has turned from villainy yet there's no cure for selfishness, he's well aware that's likely to live on in both of them for the rest of their lives.

he doesn't seem intimidated by her anger, because he doesn't think he has any cause to be afraid. they don't like each other, but Regina isn't going to harm him. she's come too far for that. )

Fine.

( he's terse, but he doesn't suppose he has to be friendly. when have they ever been friends? they've betrayed each other too much for that. )

I'll keep on looking for a way back to Maine. If there's some remnant of the shop there, the Crocodile might have more information on all this.
