[ It's a strange concept to wrap her mind around. Fighting against the darkness and then taking on the dark curse, being the Dark One when she's seen what it did to Gold. Maybe if she'd lived it, Emma would have an easier time making sense of it. All she has now are a bunch of questions that she hasn't pushed to get the answers to. Is it wrong for her to go into this blind? He gave her the basics. If there's more, and if it's as bad as she's thinking it is, doesn't she have a right to say she doesn't want to know?

They're searching for supplies when she comes across her second familiar face, and this time when Regina stops in her tracks, Emma knows why. The curse strikes again. She lets go of Hook's hand to take a few cautious steps forward, nodding in greeting with her hands tucked into the pockets of her jacket. She's fine. They're all fine. Probably screwed, but when are they not? She'd rather take her odds on getting through this than deal with what's waiting for her at home - but she'd rather be home, if that means she's with Henry.

And she knows that goes for both of them.]

Regina, hey.

[There's no way to start the conversation they should really have, so maybe they should start small. They can work their way up to the rest of it later.]

Are you alright?
