They were on the same page there--Echo immediately didn't like Glacis, and Glacius immediately like Echo. She looked all too similar to one of the genetic experiments that Ultratech had created and then commanded to attack him while he was confined to their compound. The scaly skin, the long and muscular body, the curving neck and of course the sharp teeth and claws. When the alien spots the raptor he actually jumps back, raising the arm that he had shifted into a blade as if he's expecting her to lunge at him with bloodthirsty ferocity.

... The creature isn't doing that, however. Glacius is so wary that his entire body seems to be bristling, but he's not going to break out into fighting if this thing doesn't show a sign of aggression. He can't risk fighting with a creature that he knows is dangerous; even if he believes he could win the potential engagement, risking injuries in such a strange place when there is such a long journey ahead of him would be highly foolish. And come to think of it, this thing doesn't look exactly like the Riptor unit that Ultratech had come up with. It looks... purer? Clearly this thing hadn't undergone the same sort of gene splicing.

Glacius pauses, his glowing green eyes watching Echo's every movement. Riptor responded to select commands but didn't have a grasp of the common language beyond that; he's going to assume the same holds true for this creature. Instead he opens his gills to emit a low, droning rattling sort of sound; stay back. Don't engage me. Stay back.
