One of the first things Kal had found in his scavenging trips was a little notebook, so he had made a point to find some graphite around he could use to write on it. Going outside might be dangerous, and he wasn't getting anywhere near the rotting people for now, but that didn't mean he couldn't superspeed his way to an old house and get some graphite.

He drew a map the best he could. He was no artist by any stretch of the definition but he had the advantage of an eagle's view and being used to seeing things from way up. So the map of California was fairly intuitive. He drew a little circle on it.
