schnapp: (poor edward)

...Zombies don't reach out to grab things. In all her time living in the apocalypse, Beth has never seen one do that. They don't stoop over, either. They just...keep walking forward no matter what, pressing onward towards their prey against all odds. So when the walker turns around and looks at her, she's certain he's about to attack.

But he doesn't, and that's what's so astonishing to her. Because she's never seen a walker lean down and try to pick something up before. She's not even sure they're capable of the amount of brainpower that leads to the conclusion that bending down will help.

It's actually a little astonishing. And it's reflected in the way she speaks up, for her own benefit of course. Thinking out loud. "What?"

She really should just kill it, though. Anomaly or not.
