There isn't anything threatening about Dick's approach. Bruce can see him coming, hear him coming. The smile is absolutely not an issue, and the crossed arms aren't something that immediately scream 'defensive' to him - though he's reserving judgement about that one.

He's still a smart ass, though a very, very dry one. "Unless something's wrong with your nose or brain, I'd assume so." And then since he knows what he's being asked: "I won't leave until I have a plan. Until then, the company's fine."

And he doesn't have one of those, yet. He will, but for now he's gathering information.
