It could send us back in time before this place ended up a dump. That's usually how it is. They're sending us on a quest to find how to get home, possibly change the world in the process. I'm tired of arcs like this. It's the same thing over and over. Somebody will learn a valuable lesson through this, have a change of heart, whatever.
