The good news is, he's been here for long enough to be able to inform her on at least some of the grosser details (gross in both senses) of the situation. Finer details he's still trying to fill in.

The bad news is he really is, in some ways, more in the dark than she is.

"I do not recognize you," he said flatly. "But you recognize me." Also flat statement of fact. Time travel? Other worlds? ...The only reason those occur to him at all is because of his discussions with others here, and because of what isn't It's mind bending, but not entirely breaking.

It still doesn't really explain anything and it doesn't make him trust her. That she's young, however, damned near does.

"Why?" The recognition. It's a start.
