Rikki hesitates for a moment, considering, and then holds up her free hand in a 'wait here' gesture.

"Give me a minute. I'll be right back, I just... don't want to take this guy out there," she says, lifting the puppy slightly when she mentions him. "Please don't go anywhere."

And then she takes off at top speed, toward the last place she saw Steve. He can't have moved far, and even if he's basically a stranger to her, there's no version of him she wouldn't trust.

Before long, she's jogging back toward the gate, puppy no longer in tow. Somewhere in the compound, Steve Rogers is very confused about what just happened to him, and her puppy is very happy to have a new friend. She'll deal with that and make her apologies later.
